WHAT ART CAN DO
is the project space of the What Art Can Do Foundation, a platform that focuses on intercultural cooperation and cross-cultural dialogue. The foundation was founded in 2018 by Simone Swildens. WHAT ART CAN DO acts as a stepping stone for artists and an accessible community of buyers and lovers of the visual arts.
Simone Swildens, together with Cornelis van Harn and Geraldine MacDonald, organizes and curates monthly exhibitions from the heart of the Jordaan with national and international artists who are not yet affiliated with a gallery in Amsterdam or who want to be connected to a gallery.
WHAT ART CAN DO... is open to the experiment, is internationally and diversely oriented.
Simone Swildens has been involved as founder of the Art in Redlight foundation, renamed This Art Foundation, organizer and curator in many national and international projects including Art in Redlight, the current This Art Fair and Here-Now /Current Visions from Colombia; an artist's vision of the changing cultural, social and political landscapes of a country marked by a 60-year history of armed struggle.
